SOS is a feature on your iPhone that allows you to quickly and easily call for help and alert your emergency contacts in case of an emergency. For iPhone 8 or later with iOS 11 or later
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Scroll down and tap Emergency SOS.
- Toggle off the switch for Call with Side Button. This will prevent your iPhone from calling emergency services when you press and hold the side button and one of the volume buttons.
- Toggle off the switch for Auto Call. This will prevent your iPhone from automatically calling emergency services after a countdown if you press the side button five times.
- If you want to disable the SOS sound and vibration, toggle off the switch for Countdown Sound.
You can also turn off the feature that sends a text message with your location to your emergency contacts after an SOS call. To do this, tap Edit Emergency Contacts in Health, then tap the red minus icon next to each contact and tap Delete.
